In a time warp down memory lane, Richard O'Brien, creator of cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, returns to Hamilton tomorrow to talk about his career.
The former Hamiltonian will speak to about 250 guests at the Wel Energy Trust Academy of Performing Arts about his 30-plus year performance career. O'Brien will also perform iconic songs such as Time Warp.
Organiser Fiona Jackson said the evening was a chance for friends to celebrate O'Brien's career.
O'Brien has said the inspiration for the zany musical came from his time spent in Hamilton during the 1960s. The Rocky Horror Show premiered in London in 1973 and was made into the film The Rocky Horror Picture Show two years later.
Ms Jackson, a Wintec media arts student, is working on a documentary about O'Brien and The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Television presenter Mark Sainsbury, a close friend of O'Brien's, will host the evening. A limited number of tickets have been made available on TradeMe.
Footage filmed during the evening will be included in Ms Jackson's documentary which will be released around July next year.
