It'll be tights-and-Time Warp time at SkyCity Cinemas' Centreplace complex tomorrow night when the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show is screened.

The over-the-top parody comedy-musical was originally released in 1975 - making it older than some ent. hacks - and was of course the brain-child of one-time Hamiltonian Richard O'Brien.

Cinema management inform ent. they have secured the only print of the film still in New Zealand, and so this really is a rare chance to see the film as it was intended on the big screen, and throw yourself into the costumed mirth and mayhem which normally accompanies a screening of the film.

The city's connection to this madcap film is strong, especially given the Riff Raff statue which graces Victoria St, the result of a long and committed campaign from local personality Mark Servian.  ``It's great to see the local cinema getting into the swing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show,'' Servian told ent. ``And it's about time we had regular screenings in the city, with all the attendant audience participation and tomfoolery.''

It's more of an event than a mere screening, say cinema management, who are encouraging punters to attend in full Rocky Horror garb. $5 goody bags with the appropriate props for the film will also be on sale.
