Popular Riff Raff statue pulls in the punters

Hamilton's statue of the Rocky Horror Show's Riff Raff is dragging in the punters.

Yesterday, a group of 21, who are touring New Zealand from Germany, England, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Australia, dressed as transvestites, who stopped to have their photographs taken by the statue at the southern end of Victoria St.

Tour guide Dameon Govind is taking the group on a 22-day tour from Auckland to Invercargill.

City council marketing manager Philip Burton said the council had been emailed by people around the world, planning to visit Hamilton specifically to see the statue.
