Frank N Furter difficult to source

It's back to the drawing board for the Rocky Horror Show's director David Sidwell after negotiations with a potential Dr Frank N Furter fell through.

Mr Sidwell said the person he was chasing could not break his contract for a three-week season.

He now has three other actors in mind for the key role, but said directing The Full Monty –- which opens on June 3 –- was taking precedence.

Mr Sidwell said the latest he could find his Frank N Furter was September but he hoped to have it sorted by the end of next month.

Last month Mr Sidwell announced the rest of the cast, which included Ginette McDonald as the narrator, Morgan Fairhead as Janet and Mike Edward from the TV series The Strip as blonde, muscled hunk Rocky. Brad will be played by James Shaw, Riff Raff by Nick Wilkinson, Magenta by Sam Ware and Columbia by Tammy Martin.

Brendon Weatherley will be Eddie as well as the part of a phantom. Scott Young will play Dr Everett Scott.

Falstaff Dowling-Mitchell, Hayden Middlebrook, Jonathan Neale, Lisa Wiles, Gayle Williams, Stephanie Christian and Zoe Stevens will also play phantoms.
